Spotlight: Meet Shannah Russell
Southeastern Evaluation Team

Shannah Russell has been with SEE from the beginning. She started work for our appraisal group – Access Appraisals – in 2002 as a part time employee. “I answered the phones, handled orders, scheduled appraisers’ appointments, etc. …very old school stuff” said Shannah. “I didn’t even understand what an appraisal was.”

But Mark Chapman, owner of Access saw something special in Shannah. At his urging, Shannah went back to school, eventually becoming a full time certified residential appraiser with the firm.

When Mark founded Southeastern Evaluation, he asked Shannah to come on board as a review appraiser. She has since become the manager of our review department.

“Through it all I have seen both sides of the business … the appraiser side as well as the mortgage side,” said Shannah. “So I know how both sides work!  This was a great way to enter the industry. I now understand the full cycle of the business and have the benefit of understanding where both sides are coming from.”

Shannah puts this experience to good use each day to ensure that all the appraisals that go through our system are of the highest quality.

In her spare time, Shannah likes to spend time with her kids - a daughter who is a senior at Clemson University (GO TIGERS), and a son who is a junior in high school. She also likes to salsa dance and is very active in her community.

So if you have any questions about the review process, be sure to ask for Shannah. She would love to hear from you.
